Photography tasks

Image
For this task, I was asked to stand in one spot and take 24 different photos. I chose this photo because I like how the light stands out amongst the trees, I also liked the colours of the trees and how as they get taller the colour gets lighter. I fell like this photo works well because the position of the light amongst the trees gives it good composition.  For this task, I was asked to take 10 abstract photos of one small object. I used a small lighter as my small object. I used a low aperture to blur the background and balanced the lighter on the railings of some stairs. For this task, we had to pick an object and take four photos of it in each Corner of the image. I chose this orange life raft beside a pond.  https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/nov/08/gardens-of-eden-the-church-forests-of-ethiopia-aoe I chose this photo essay because at first the images caught my eye and after reading the article it was also very interesting. I like how they described the churches as islands of biodiversity in a sea of agriculture.

Shutter Speed

when taking these photos I learned that if you are taking a photo of something moving it is better to use a higher shutter speed to take a clearer picture as if you were to use a lower shutter speed the thing moving will be blurred, but this can still lead to cool effects in your photos.

Aperture

With this photo, I learned how to focus the camera on the background to create depth of field. when taking this photo it was important for the leaves to be still, so we could focus the camera on it before taking the picture, otherwise the camera would focus on the background. I learnt that half pressing the shutter button will focus the camera when taking pictures. This was the first photo we took today, so I learned what shutter speed to use outside when using a low aperture to create the blurred background.
